Here are seven PORKY PIG CARTOONS that Warner Bros let slip through the cracks. No ... these are not the super quality dubs for which we are known, these are the best available and  as a TOON RARITIES they are a sensation.

Some of these toons were seen on Television during the early days of that medium when black and white cartoons were tolerated, but haven't been around much since having been banished to back rooms at TV stations and tucked away in attics. Here is your chance to add some RARE GEM to your collection.

"Kistopher Columbus Jr." The Porky character appears as Christopher Columbus. Porky sets off to discover the New World carrying Queen Isabella's treasures including her jewels, a sling shot and a Jr. G-Man badge. Porky is met by some weird looking Indians some of whom he takes back to the Old World to introduce to the court. A hush falls over the hall as the natives prepare to demonstrate their native dance. True to tradition of the studio a wild jitter buy scene ensues with great music from the studio orchestra. Supervised by Bob Clampett and animated by Norm McCabe and I. Ellis. Released on May 13, 1939.

"Calling Dr. Porky" This one came out about the time of the Dr. Kildare Movie and radio series, but nothing in the scrip ties it to the Lew Ayers and Lionel Barrymore films and radio show, except the title which was similar to the opening of the radio show which had a female voice paging ..."Calling Dr. Kildare ... Calling Dr. Kildare". At any rate in this toon Porky is a Doctor at the "New Rightus Hospital". A drunk comes in to take the cure but fails to escape a bunch of winged pink elephants. Supervised by I. Freeling. Story by Jack Miller. No animator gets credit. Released of September 21, 1940.

"Porky's Picnic" In this one, Porky and his girl friend Petunia and Porky's nephew Pinkie (here we go with that ubiquitous nephew thing) go on a picnic. The naughty little Pinkie plays all sorts of cruel tricks on Porky, but out of sight of Petunia. Supervised by Bob Clampett and animated by Robert Cannon and Vive Risto. Released July 15, 1939

"Porky's Phoney Express" The real Pony Express recruits Porky as a decoy to throw Indian raiders off the track. The plan is for Porky to mount his pony and take off with a phony mail sack. Porky accidentally gets the real sack and has to protect it from a tribe of vicious Indians. (Anyone out there know the meaning of the sign which shows up on a desk in this one which reads "foo"?) No one at the studio would tell us ... if the knew.) Supervised by Cal Dayton and Cal Howard. Story by Melvin Millar. Released March 9, 1938.

"Little Boy Porky" This is a very early Porky in which our portly porcine star plays a private in the French Foreign Legion. Private Porky is left alone at the fort and has to fend off an evil sheik named Ali Mode who lead a band of pig Latin speaking marauders. This is one of the action packed toons for which it's supervisor became noted. Supervised by Frank Tashlin. Animated by Robert Bentley and Nelson Demorest. Released October 24, 1936.

"Porky Pig's Feat" This one stars Porky and Daffy with a guest appearance by Bugs Bunny. Porky and Daffy are broke and try to sneak out of the Broken Arms Hotel but have a difficult time getting past the desk clerk. This cartoon marks a rare occurrence of Bugs Bunny as a 'guest' in a black and white toon. Years later WB added color to correct their copyright error, but this is the ORIGINAL version in B&W. Released July 17, 1943.

PLUS YOU GET .... @#!?~*#@+

"Porky Swears!" What's the origin of this short clip? The voice is obviously Mel Blank and it appears to be genuine in every way. Except ... because of the phrase Porky utters ... this can't possibly have been released to any general audience. A back room gag? Probably. We'd love to know the story. You gotta hear it from the Pig's own lips. Supervisor, animator and release date unknown.
